Scotty Johnson

As Ecologist, philosopher, composer and writer, Scotty Johnson has trained with former Vice-President Al Gore and lectured extensively on climate change, served on various USFWS endangered species recovery teams, worked on bi and transnational environmental working groups, served on Con. Gabrielle Gifford’s Solar Advisory Team and lobbied extensively on endangered species policy. Originally a student of Humanities and Fine Arts at ASU, in the mid 1980’s Johnson sidelined a successful musical career, studied Conservation Science at the U of A and dedicated the last forty years to biodiversity protection. He recently retired after fifteen years with Defenders of Wildlife where he served in various capacities, including outreach and education, field conservation and government relations.
