Ryan received his MS in Wildlife Ecology from the University of Florida working on site occupancy models to monitor Anuran populations in the Florida Everglades. During the seven years Ryan worked as a biologist in the Florida Everglades he had the opportunity to work with a variety of interesting reptiles and amphibians, including native species such as the American Crocodile, American Alligator, and Green Tree Frog; as well as non-native species such as the notorious Burmese Python, Oustalet’s Chameleon, and Argentine Tegus. Following Ryan’s graduation he moved south to Ecuador with his wife to pursue their next adventure together in the country where they originally met. Upon arriving in Ecuador Ryan took on the position of Biologist/ Photographer for The Biodiversity Group, and spent two years leading TBG projects in Ecuador. He now works as the Executive Director of TBG’s partner organization Third Millennium Alliance.
