Felix Caballero is a self-taught naturalist and guide in and around Pueblo de Alamos in Sonora, Mexico. Felix’s family’s roots run as densely tangled as those of the trees along the beloved Rio Cuchujaqui. In addition to teaching TBG field participants to recognize the calls of beloved native birds from chachalacas to lilac-crowned parrots, Felix knows where to search for the lesser known life such as giant beaded lizards, mud turtles, and insects; all while keeping us gringos from getting lost in the ruggedly beautiful, cactus-studded, tropical deciduous forest.
