These terms govern your use of biodiversitygroup.org, operated by The Biodiversity Group (“TBG”), a 501(c)(3) non-profit conservation organization based in Tucson, Arizona. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Use of the site
You may use this site for lawful purposes only. You agree not to attempt to gain unauthorized access to the site or its systems, interfere with its operation, scrape or harvest it in a way that burdens our servers, or use it to transmit unlawful or harmful material.
Donations
TBG is recognized as a tax-exempt organization under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Donations are processed by a third-party payment provider; we do not store your card details. You will receive a receipt by email, and we recommend keeping it for your records.
Donations are generally non-refundable. If you believe a donation was made in error, contact us and we will review it in good faith.
Where a donation is made in support of a project under our fiscal sponsorship program, TBG receives and administers those funds as the fiscal sponsor, retaining the discretion and control over their use that the law requires of us. Gifts restricted to a purpose are applied to that purpose.
Merchandise orders
Prices and availability for items in our shop may change without notice. We will tell you if we cannot fulfill an order. Questions about a specific order should be sent to the contact address below.
Intellectual property
The content on this site — including photographs, text, artwork, logos, and video — is owned by TBG or its contributors and is protected by copyright and other laws. Our photographs in particular are the work of individual photographers and are licensed to us; they may not be copied, downloaded, redistributed or used commercially without written permission.
You may share links to our pages and quote short excerpts with attribution.

Our site links to third-party sites and platforms that we do not control. We provide those links for convenience and do not endorse, and are not responsible for, their content, products or practices.
Scientific and conservation information
We publish information about species, habitats and conservation work for educational purposes. We take care to be accurate, but the site is not scientific, legal, veterinary or professional advice, and information may become out of date.
Some location information is deliberately generalized or withheld to protect vulnerable species from collection and poaching.
