Ryan is a technology leader and IT strategist with expertise in software development, web technologies, infrastructure, mapping technologies, and networking. He has used this background to found and build FishMap.org, a citizen science website used for mapping and tracking fish species, and has been involved in the use of drones for scientific research. He is passionate about biodiversity and believes it is an individual’s responsibility to do what they can to discover, track, protect, and promote biodiversity. New species, rediscovered lost species, and the ecosystem as a whole must be documented and conserved.
Ryan has a passion for fish and has been involved in ichthyological fieldwork in Mexico and the United States. In the US this work has primarily revolved around helping track invasive fish species in Florida.
