From catching butterflies by age 2 to discovering new species by age 22, Scott has found his calling in wildlife conservation as a theorist, researcher, and practitioner. He has carved out a niche in protecting often-overlooked species and delights in showcasing their beauty through award-winning photography.
Currently, Scott serves as the Executive Director and Board Chair of The Biodiversity Group, a US-based non-profit organization with a dual mission: safeguarding underrepresented species and providing crucial support to conservation non-profits globally. His leadership extends beyond this role, having previously co-founded and directed the Creative Conservation Alliance, which has become one of the most impactful conservation NGOs in Bangladesh.
Scott’s work is driven by a deep-seated dedication and unbridled curiosity to protect the natural world. He feels most at home leading expeditions to remote corners of the globe, often to rediscover lost tropical species. Through his uniquely innovative approach, Scott continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible in protecting our planet’s biodiversity.
